HISTORY OF VERSIONS

Minecraft started with a simple idea of placing and removing blocks. It was then that Minecraft was born. But it needed more. Soon new blocks were added, also with terrain, trees, lava pools and water pools. It hit multiplayer. Also animals were added. By accident Notch reprogrammed the pig and it looked like a today's creeper. This version is called Classic, or 0.30.

Soon Indev and Infdev versions came, which brought crafting and health to game, there was no sprint and no hunger. It was hard to survive. You healed by eating food. Then Minecraft hit Alpha. It added ores, dungeons and new blocks. Weather was added soon and also the Nether and multiplayer. And as soon as beta hit and with that Minecraft was avaliable to everyone.

Minecraft slowly evolved. Then in Minecraft beta 1.8 it added sprinting and hunger with lots of survival aspects. In 1.0 Minecraft was officialy released. For a full list of updates check this link.
